A Few Words to the Cell Group Leaders
A cell group leader serves and encourages a growing group of
people who enjoy being together so that the leader and all
the group experience the Christian life together. A cell
group leader walks with God and takes responsibility to love
and influence people so that they progress from where they
are to where God wants them to be. His or her personal
relationship with Christ is more important than any other
things such as public speaking skill, comminucation skill
or religious background.
The following is a list of basic responsibilities of
a cell group leader:
- Organize and lead scheduled cell group meetings which
must include one or more of the following:
- Teaching - learning and applying God's words
- Fellowship - building supportive, mutually accountable relationships
- Worship - thanking and praising God for who He is and what He has done
- Prayer - listening to and sharing intimately with God; interceding for others and God's work in the world
- Ministry - using spiritual gifts and loving each other in practical ways to meet needs
- Evangelism - impacting our society and spreading the Gospel
- Discipleship - nuturing spiritual growth and making disciples
- Provide loving care to all members of your group and
their families as appropriate (visit in hospital, home etc.)
- Pray for all the people in your cell group.
- Listen to and follow the Holy Spirit on how He wants to work in and
through the people in your group.
- Train an apprentice leader who will branch off to start
his or her own cell group.
- Be faithfully involved in church ministry.
