Kitchen Use Guidelines

FLC Building | Main/Office Building

The Kitchen, Restaurant and Food Team (KRAFT) will facilitate SWCBC Fellowship groups to use the FLC Building Kitchen:
  1. The ‘Kitchen Use Agreement’ form needs to be filled out and turned in to the office 30 days before the event starting date. The form is available online here and by the Main Building Kitchen’s pantry door.
  2. In general, each fellowship group can use the FLC Kitchen up to 2 times a year. Each time, 30 or more adults are expected to attend the gathering in order to maximize the cost-effectiveness of using the kitchen. For any joint fellowship gathering, only one fellowship group will be counted.
  3. The normal kitchen’s operation hour is between 10:00 am and 9:00 pm. Dinner should be served no later than 8:00 pm.
  4. An FLC certified food manger (CFM) must be present to oversee the operation of the kitchen throughout the entire event. We recommend that the fellowship group use their own CFM to oversee the event. If the fellowship group does not have a CFM, the Kitchen, Restaurant and Food Team (KRAFT) will assign one to oversee the operation without charge.
  5. Minors (under 18) will NOT be allowed in the kitchen at anytime without the approval of the CFM.
  6. The fellowship group is responsible for cleaning up all the pots and pans, utensils, serving dishes, rice cookers, teapots, and coffee makers, plus any other utensils and cooking wares inside the kitchen after use before 9:00 pm.
  7. All dishes and utensils must be dried by dishtowels and be put back on the racks.
  8. All dirty towels and aprons must be placed in the hamper. Do not place any towel on the top of the counter to dry.
  9. Depending on the level of usage of the kitchen, the CFM assigned to the event will determine if the Certified Cleaning Crew (CCC), which is not volunteer-based and approved by the KRAFT, needs to be called in. If called, the CCC will start the cleaning at 9:00 pm. Areas and things to be cleaned include the kitchen floor, hoods, stoves, woks and oven, if necessary. The church will cover the cleaning fee ($40).
  10. If item #6 listed above is not done, the fellowship group will be charged $70 by the people who will do the cleaning. In addition, if the CCC has been called, Item #6 must be done before their arrival, unless special arrangement has been made beforehand.
