Gate

The following are the general rules for the usage of the gate:

1. The gate area must be clear of pedestrians before operating the gate.
2. The gate should not be used if it is damaged or difficult to move. See Rule #8 and #9 and immediately report to the Building Emergency Response Team (BERT).
3. Nobody is allowed to play near any part of the gate system.
4. Children are never allowed to operate the gate.
5. Remote controls must be kept out of reach of children.
6. The gate will remain open during daytime of the week and evenings on every Wednesday, Friday and any special events.
7. Gate will be open or close ONLY when code is entered or remote signal is received.
8. The emergency on/off switch is located under the transformer next to the gate operator. This switch is locked to prevent others from breaking in. The key for the lock is located in the Church Office.
9. In case of power shortage or emergency, the emergency on/off switch should be turned off first. Get the key from the Church office to unlock the switch. Insert an allen crank into the motor. The allen crank is kept inside the gate operator. Then manually rotate the motor by turning the allen crank to open the gate. When the power is back, turn the emergency on/off switch back on. Then lock the switch. Remember to return the key to the Church Office. If the Office is closed, contact the Building Emergency Response Team (BERT).
10. If any church member needs to open the gate for special events, please notify the church office. A temporary code will be given. This code will be changed periodically.

Notes to all Church Councilors, leaders and staff:

1. Memorize both permanent and temporary gate access codes. Only the temporary acces code can be provided to those who must need it to operate the gate. Never give away the permanent code. You will be notified if the temporary code has been changed. Contact the Building Emergency Response Team (BERT) if you forget the temporary code.
2. The Church Office will keep a log book of the date, the event, and the people who are given either or both codes. Please report to the Office if any access code has been revealed to other people.
